Scott Lloyd has taken the 2017 crown in Carp-Talk’s ‘Most Wanted Cup’. The top Northern carp angler has been voted this year’s winner thanks to his capture of the mighty Burghfield common in April. This is the second year the competition has been running, which was launched to highlight the ‘Most Wanted’ carp in the country and the anglers that dedicated so much of their lives to the pursuit of catching these special fish. For 2017 a ranking system was introduced where all the fish on the list were ranked as Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum and given a points value based on the grade. Scott is one of two anglers who achieved five points, the other being Ed Betteridge. This meant that the Carp-Talk panel had to decide who took the crown and, although the panel recognised Ed had an outstanding year with his capture of two fish from the ‘Most Wanted’ list it was a unanimous vote for Scott Lloyd who cemented his name in the carp fishing history. Congratulations Scott.
