Who can forget the effect L-Zero 30 had on the carp world? Not only was it mega-attractive to carp, it could be used in so many ways. If memory serves me correctly, thanks to EU legislation it could no longer be manufactured. I think I wore a black armband for a week!

When Tom at Sticky told me that he’d sourced something very similar, I couldn’t wait to get my grubby little mitts on a bottle.

At first glance, it’s actually very similar to L-Zero 30 in colour and texture, and has its own unique aroma, which is fairly pleasant and very carpy. It is sourced from the rich waters of the Pacific Ocean, and is an ultra-soluble tuna hydrolysate. This is a totally raw, fresh product which is low in fat and high in soluble digestible proteins. It boasts high levels of palatable amino acids, which should make it a mega carp attractor.

As I said at the start, this type of liquid can be used in a variety of ways. It is a great addition to a boilie mix, and can also be used as a very effective dip. Personally, I will use it as a hookbait soak, and permanently have some pop-ups and bottom baits steeping away in it. Be warned though, it does affect buoyancy. It can obviously be used in sticks and bag mixes to give them some extra pulling power. One of my favourite ways of using this type of liquid is for coating pellets; it really does make a huge difference.

I know that the guys at Sticky are really impressed with the results of the testing, and genuinely believe that it is better than L-Zero 30. I for one really hope it is.
