Obituary Tony Miles

It is with a great deal of sadness that I have to pass on the news of the death of all-round angler Tony Miles. Tony, from Coventry, became well known during the ’70s and ’80s, and was well respected by fellow specimen hunters, me included. He passed away while fishing on the banks of the Great Ouse. He was a prolific writer in the angling press, and wrote numerous books including The Complete Specimen Hunter, Elite Barbel, Quest for Barbel, My Way With Chub, and The Carp Years, to name just a few. He was famous for his barbel catching exploits, but he also caught huge carp, chub, perch, pike, and bream, in a fishing career that spanned decades. This true gentleman angler will be sadly missed.
